Solar Eclipse – April 8
If by some chance you have not heard, a total solar eclipse will cross North America on April 8, and Columbus is right in its path. This is truly a once-in-a-lifetime event, as the last time that Ohio was in the direct path of a solar eclipse was in 1806! The eclipse's path will span 300 miles and will captivate onlookers for more than two hours.
To take advantage of this rare and spectacular event, there will be viewing parties held throughout the city. Be sure to check out those being held at COSI, the National Veterans Memorial and Museum, LandGrant, and more.
Note, it is not safe to look directly at the Sun without the protection of specialized eye protection. Do not look at the Sun through a camera, binoculars, or telescope without a solar filter secured over the optics.
